Augmented reality and quantum realities
By Silvana Callegari with the support of Nicolás Bernal.
Weird Science is an Augmented Reality creation lab, where participants meet to learn about the tools and context necessary to carry out augmented reality applications with an artistic approach.
The objective of this lab is to generate connections and dialogues with "Weird" technologies, which make us question the limits of our perception of reality, cyberspace and hyperreality. A theoretical journey is made from popular culture, social networks, to artistic projects and examples where the human has become so intertwined with technology that it has become a Posthuman full of errors/glitches and indeterminacy; dislocated in time and space. Based on these concepts, we inquire about the imminent interaction between art and the Weirdest Quantum Theory.
This laboratory was developed in a hybrid way, as an expansion of what would be the on-site festival. The first sessions were held at Lab 101 of the National University and when the quarantines began, the final sessions were developed through digital platforms.
This laboratory has a completely digital version in a collection of video tutorials.
