CREATIVE ATOMISM
Exploring the fundamental components of creation in art, science, technology, philosophy and design as well as their interactions.
Curtis Roads - a scholar of granular synthesis and electroacoustic music - proposes that beneath the conventional musical hierarchy there is a more fundamental stratum where sound particles are responsible for the emergent properties of sound, properties that are more general than music itself and define the limits of perception. Like quarks, gluons, leptons, bosons, these particles interact with each other resulting in amplifications, mixtures, collisions, annihilations that ultimately generate the endless possibilities of sound creation, just as the standard model of particles and the interactions between them define the basic building blocks of physics itself.
What are the fundamental components that allow the construction and creative generation in a specific area? What are their interactions among them and with the creative particles of other areas of knowledge? Understanding these particles as metaphors, this space proposed here aims to be the "collider" where we will seek the creation of new ideas from the interaction of the basic units of science, art, design and technology.
A space to discuss from the generating concepts of each area the creation as an encounter between nature, culture, perception and production.
Interspatial Travels
The group created an algorithm that, based on the reading of the text "Viajes Interespaciales" written by José David Ruiz, generates a journey through a three-dimensional virtual space (spiral or fractal) and proposes a non-linear narrative based on the structure of the text and a series of samples.
